We provide our method Statements & Risk assessment to you prior to arriving on site.
- We locate each steam trap
- Tag each steam trap – Using a unique tag number relevant to the area (Prefix BH-01 = Boiler House – trap number #01etc.)
- Record all necessary data including; Area Location/Detailed Location Trap Model/Size/Connection Type/Suitability/Present Condition
- We check that the steam trap is suitable for the application
- We check that the steam trap is sized correctly (has a condensate capacity suitable for the application)
- Test the steam trap for correct operation using ultrasonic tester & Laser Thermometer
- Include any necessary comments that may be required – leakages/installation issues/improvement suggestions/recommendations
Our test equipment is intrinsically safe for use in explosive environments. We can test high level traps safely using extension probes and we also have up to date IPAF mobile access (MEWP) licences.
Once the survey data is collected
We put it all together in a bound report (you receive an electronic copy of the report) which includes
- Full steam trap inventory
- A failed list of steam traps requiring attention
- A report highlighting any major improvement recommendations – long & short term
- A loss calculation for the failed steam traps
- Any steam trap rationalisation suggestions – if required
